In April 2024, the Kansas Department Labor revised its Notice to Workers About Unemployment Insurance to include new hours of availability for claims specialists.
Kansas Unemployment Insurance Poster Update
- New hours of availability for claims specialists provided
Effective July 1, 2024, the Kansas Department of Labor increased the timeframe during which employees can file notice of a workers’ compensation claim.
Kansas Workers Compensation Law Update
- Employees now have 30 days to file a workers’ compensation claim
- New liability amount of $800 for medical treatment provided by a doctor not authorized by the employer
Kansas Labor Law Poster Update
All businesses within the state of Kansas must display the new “Unemployment Insurance” and “Workers Compensation Rights and Responsibilities” posters along with other state-mandated posting requirements where they are sufficiently accessible and viewable to all employees. These changes have been reflected in our Kansas Labor Law Poster and require an immediate mandatory update.
